Biography
Andrew J. McIntyre, also credited as Andy McIntyre, was an American cinematographer. Born on 24 May 1903 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, he began his career in the camera department as an assistant camera operator on films including Northwest Passage (1940) and The Asphalt Jungle (1950). He later worked as a camera operator on productions such as Elmer Gantry (1960), The Collector (1965) and King Rat (1965).
In the mid-1960s McIntyre moved into director of photography roles, primarily in television. He served as cinematographer on multiple episodes of series including Camp Runamuck (1965–1966), Gidget (1966), The F.B.I. (1966) and The Invaders (1967–1968, 42 episodes). He contributed to Mission: Impossible (1966) as director of photography on three episodes in 1968, and worked on The Name of the Game (1969–1970) and the feature Flareup (1969). McIntyre died on 9 June 1970 in Ventura, California.
