Biography
Anita Gillette (née Luebben) is an American actress and singer. Born on 16 August 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland, she studied at the Peabody Conservatory. Her Broadway credits include roles in the original productions of Gypsy (1959), Carnival! (1961), Guys and Dolls (1965), Mr. President (1962) and Cabaret (1966–1969), as well as later appearances in They're Playing Our Song and replacements in other shows.
Gillette received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in Neil Simon's Chapter Two (1977–1978). She appeared in the film Moonstruck (1987) as Mona, and has had recurring or guest roles in television series including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Modern Family, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Blue Bloods and Chicago Med.
