Biography
Ann Mitchell is a British actress born on 22 April 1939 in Stepney, London. She trained at East 15 Acting School and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television since the late 1950s.
She came to prominence in the 1980s as Dolly Rawlins in the Lynda La Plante crime series Widows and its sequels. In 2011 she joined the BBC soap EastEnders as Cora Cross, a role she has played in multiple stints. Film credits include Mrs Elton in The Deep Blue Sea (2011) and Amanda's Mother in the 2018 remake of Widows.
Mitchell received a Pye Award for her performance in Widows and was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for her stage role in Through the Leaves. She has appeared in series such as Call the Midwife, Vera and Silent Witness.
