Biography
Anne Francis was an American actress. Born in Ossining, New York, she began her career as a child model and made her Broadway debut at the age of eleven. She appeared in supporting roles in several 1950s films, including Bad Day at Black Rock (1955) and Blackboard Jungle (1955).
Francis is best known for her role as Altaira Morbius in the science fiction film Forbidden Planet (1956) and as the title character in the television series Honey West (1965–1966). For the latter she won a Golden Globe Award and received a Primetime Emmy nomination. She also played Georgia James in Funny Girl (1968).
She appeared in numerous television series and films over a career spanning more than six decades.
