Biography
Arthur Sheekman (5 February 1901 – 12 January 1978) was an American screenwriter, playwright and former newspaper critic and columnist. Born in Chicago, he began his career as a reporter and arts critic on papers including the St Paul News and Chicago Times before moving to Hollywood in the early 1930s.
He contributed additional dialogue to the Marx Brothers films Monkey Business (1931) and Duck Soup (1933), and co-wrote several screenplays with Nat Perrin, including Kid Millions (1934) and Pigskin Parade (1936). His later credits include the original story for Wonder Man (1945) and the screenplay for Some Came Running (1958). Sheekman was married to the actress Gloria Stuart.
