Biography
Asheq Akhtar is a British actor, director and musician. Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 1975, he worked as a musician for many years before making his acting debut in the 2010 film Self Made.
He has appeared in television series including Sherlock (2010), Black Mirror (2011 and 2025), His Dark Materials (2019), The Great (2020), Andor (2022) and Man Like Mobeen (2017–2020), and in films such as Blinded by the Light (2019), Dream Horse (2021) and Scrapper (2023), in which he played Youseff. Akhtar has also directed several short films and releases music under the alias Suborno.
