Biography
Austin Wintory is an American composer for film and video games. Born in Denver, Colorado, he studied composition at New York University before transferring to the film scoring programme at the University of Southern California, where he met game developer Jenova Chen.
He began scoring games in the mid-2000s, including Flow (2006) and the widely acclaimed Journey (2012), the only video game soundtrack nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. His film credits include Grace (2009), Tales of Halloween (2015), Standoff (2016), Bullet Head (2017), The Last Movie Star (2018), Born a Champion (2021), One Shot (2021) and One More Shot (2024). He composed the score for The Brink of War (2026).
Wintory has received two BAFTA awards and multiple nominations, three Grammy nominations and numerous industry awards for his work across games and film.
