Biography
Axelle Carolyn is a Belgian filmmaker, writer and former journalist and actress. She began her career as a freelance reporter for film magazines and websites, culminating in the 2009 publication of her book It Lives Again! Horror Movies in the New Millennium. She later directed short films from 2011 and made her feature debut with the ghost story Soulmate in 2014.
Carolyn is known for her work in horror, including creating and directing segments of the anthology Tales of Halloween (2015) and directing the feature The Manor (2021). Her television directing credits include episodes of American Horror Story (2011), The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), Creepshow (2019), Them (2021), The Midnight Club (2022), Mayfair Witches (2023) and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022). She also wrote for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018).
She was married to director Neil Marshall from 2007 to 2016.
