Biography
Barbara Bosson was an American actress best known for playing Fay Furillo, the ex-wife of Captain Frank Furillo, in the NBC series Hill Street Blues (1981–1986). She appeared in the first six seasons of the show and received five consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Bosson had supporting roles in films including Capricorn One (1978) and The Last Starfighter (1984). She earned a sixth Emmy nomination for her performance as prosecutor Miriam Grasso in the legal drama Murder One (1995–1997). Other television credits include regular roles in Hooperman (1987–1989) and Cop Rock (1990).
Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Bosson trained at Carnegie Mellon University and was married to television producer Steven Bochco from 1970 until their divorce in 1997. She died in 2023.
