Biography

Beau Willimon is an American playwright and screenwriter. He was born on 26 October 1977 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Willimon created and served as showrunner for the first four seasons of the Netflix series House of Cards (2013–2018). He wrote the screenplay for The Ides of March (2011), adapted from his play Farragut North, and created the Hulu series The First (2018). He wrote six episodes of the Disney+ series Andor (2022–2025) across both seasons.

Willimon has received nominations for an Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe for The Ides of March, and a Primetime Emmy Award for writing the Andor episode "One Way Out".
