Bernard Smith (1907–1999) was an American film producer and literary editor. After a career in publishing, he moved to Hollywood in 1947 and worked as a script editor for Samuel Goldwyn before becoming an independent producer.

He produced Elmer Gantry (1960), directed by Richard Brooks, and How the West Was Won (1962). Both films received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture. Smith later collaborated with director John Ford on Cheyenne Autumn (1964) and 7 Women (1965). He retired from film production in 1971 and published a memoir, A World Remembered: 1925–1950, in 1994.
