Biography
Bernhard Wicki (28 October 1919 – 5 January 2000) was an Austrian-Swiss actor and film director. He appeared as Doctor Ulmer in Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas (1984).
Wicki trained at drama schools in Berlin and Vienna. After the Second World War he acted in numerous German-language films, including La Notte (1961) as Tommaso Garani and Death Watch (1980). He also directed several features, notably the anti-war film The Bridge (1959) and the German segments of The Longest Day (1962).
He won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 1961 Berlin International Film Festival for The Miracle of Father Malachia.
