Biography
Bijan Daneshmand is an Iranian-born British actor and artist based in London. Born on 16 August 1958 in Tehran, he moved to England at the age of ten. He graduated from King's College London, trained in acting at the London Centre for Theatre Studies and the Philippe Gaulier School in Paris, and holds an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts.
Daneshmand is known for roles including the High Priest in House of the Dragon (2022), Kamal Nasser in Munich (2005), Kouyami in The Night Manager (2016), Rasoul Shahin in The Diplomat (2023), and the Director in Under the Shadow (2016). He produced and starred in 20 Fingers (2004), which won the Best Digital Film award at the Venice International Film Festival. His other credits include Green Zone (2010), Page Eight (2011), Brassic (2019), Suspicion (2022) and Spooks (2002). In 2026 he appeared in the stage adaptation of Under the Shadow at the Almeida Theatre, reprising and expanding his film role.
