Biography
Bill McKinney was an American character actor. He trained at the Pasadena Playhouse and Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio. His film debut was in She Freak (1967).
McKinney played the Mountain Man in Deliverance (1972). He appeared in seven Clint Eastwood films, notably as Captain Terrill in The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976). Other credits include First Blood (1982) as State Police Capt. Dave Kern, Back to the Future Part III (1990) as Engineer and The Green Mile (1999) as Jack Van Hay. He also voiced Jonah Hex in Batman: The Animated Series (1992).
McKinney died on 1 December 2011.
