Biography
Billy West is an American voice actor and musician. Born William Richard Werstine on 16 April 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, he began his career in the 1980s with comedic routines and impressions on Boston radio station WBCN, later contributing voices to The Howard Stern Show.
West is known for originating the title roles in the Nickelodeon series Doug (1991) and The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991), and for voicing Philip J. Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr Zoidberg and others in Futurama (1999). His film work includes Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Space Jam (1996). He also provided voices for the documentary An Inconvenient Truth (2006). In addition to voice work, West performs as a guitarist and singer-songwriter with the band Billy West and The Grief Counselors.
