Biography
Björn Bjelfvenstam is a Swedish actor born on 19 February 1929 in Uppsala. He began his career in student theatre in Uppsala and trained at Axel Witzansky's theatre school (1949–1950), the Riksteatern studio and the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school (1951–1953).
From 1953 to 1957 he worked at Malmö City Theatre under Ingmar Bergman, appearing in several of Bergman's films including Waiting Women (1952) as Henrik Lobelius, Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) as Henrik Egerman and Wild Strawberries (1957) as Viktor. His older brother Bo Bjelfvenstam was a director, writer and author. After a period away from acting he returned in the 1990s for a regular role as Verner Johnsson in the television series Tre kronor (1994–1998).
