Biography
Bob Rosenfarb was an American television writer and producer. Born Robert Martin Rosenfarb in Brooklyn on 16 September 1951 and raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, he graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University before moving to Los Angeles in 1978. He began his career selling a script for a 1982 episode of Archie Bunker’s Place after working as a bartender and performing stand-up.
Rosenfarb contributed to Cagney & Lacey (story, 1986) and The Golden Girls (writer and story editor, 1986–87). He wrote 19 episodes of Head of the Class (1987–89) and worked on the final two seasons of Who’s the Boss? (1990–92) as writer and supervising producer. He spent six seasons on Step by Step (1992–98) in writing and producing roles.
His other credits include episodes of St. Elsewhere, animated series such as The Get Along Gang and Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats, The Ellen Burstyn Show, Free Spirit and The Upper Hand. Rosenfarb died on 3 March 2026, aged 74.
