Biography
Bogumił Kobiela was a Polish stage and film actor. He trained at the State Higher School of Acting in Kraków, graduating in 1953, and began his career at the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk. He later worked at theatres in Warsaw and performed in cabarets including Bim-Bom, Dudek and Wagabunda, often collaborating with Zbigniew Cybulski.
He appeared in films of the Polish School, including an uncredited role in A Generation (1955), Drewnowski in Ashes and Diamonds (1958), and the lead role of Jan Piszczyk in Andrzej Munk’s Bad Luck (1960). Other credits include The Saragossa Manuscript (1965) and The Doll (1968). Kobiela died on 10 July 1969 in Gdańsk, aged 38, following a car accident.
