Biography
Brandon J. Dirden is an American actor known for his work in theatre and on television. He holds a B.A. in mathematics from Morehouse College and an M.F.A. in acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His Broadway credits include appearances in Prelude to a Kiss (2007), Clybourne Park, Enron, All the Way (as Martin Luther King Jr.), Jitney, Skeleton Crew and Take Me Out.
Off Broadway he played Boy Willie in a Signature Theatre revival of The Piano Lesson, for which he received an OBIE Award, a Theatre World Award and an AUDELCO Award. He has also directed several plays. On screen, Dirden portrayed Dennis Aderholt in four seasons of The Americans (2015–2018). Other television roles include appearances in The Good Wife, Manifest, Mrs. America, For Life and Evil.
He is married to actress Crystal A. Dickinson and has one child. Dirden is an associate arts professor at NYU Tisch and a member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
