Biography
Britta Phillips is an American actress, singer-songwriter and musician. Born on 11 June 1963 in Boyne City, Michigan, she moved to New York City at the age of 19 to pursue music. Her early work included providing the singing voice of the title character in the animated series Jem (1985–1988).
She made her feature film acting debut in Satisfaction (1988). Phillips has appeared in films including Frances Ha (2012) and contributed to soundtracks and scores. With her husband Dean Wareham she has composed music for Noah Baumbach films such as The Squid and the Whale (2005) and Mistress America (2015), and they have released albums as the duo Dean & Britta. She has also voiced characters in the series Moral Orel (2005–2008).
