Biography
Bruce A. Evans is an American screenwriter, producer and director. Born on 19 September 1946 in Long Beach, California, he studied at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Evans began his screenwriting career in partnership with Raynold Gideon. Their credits include the 1979 film A Man, a Woman, and a Bank, the screenplay for Starman (1984), and both the screenplay and production of Stand by Me (1986). The Stand by Me screenplay earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Evans directed Kuffs (1992) and Mr. Brooks (2007). Other writing credits include Made in Heaven (1987), Jungle 2 Jungle (1997) and the story for Cutthroat Island (1995).
