Biography
Bruce Joel Rubin (born 10 March 1943) is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He studied at Wayne State University before transferring to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Rubin wrote the screenplays for Ghost (1990) and Jacob's Ladder (1990), serving as associate producer on the latter. He received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Ghost. Other credits include Brainstorm (1983), Deadly Friend (1986), My Life (1993, which he also directed), Deep Impact (1998) and Stuart Little 2 (2002). He has sometimes been credited as Derek Saunders.
