Biography
Carl Koch (30 July 1892 – 1 December 1963) was a German film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. He collaborated extensively with his wife, the animator Lotte Reiniger, on early silhouette animation films, including serving as cinematographer on The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926).
Koch worked as assistant director and co-writer on Jean Renoir’s The Rules of the Game (1939). He also contributed to other Renoir projects and later produced silhouette films for television after settling in England in 1949.
