Biography
Caroline Champetier is a French cinematographer. She was born on 16 July 1954 in Paris and trained at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques (IDHEC, now La Fémis). She has worked as director of photography on more than one hundred films since 1979.
Her credits include Holy Motors (2012), Of Gods and Men (2010), Annette (2021), The Innocents (2016), Hannah Arendt (2012) and The Guardians (2017). She received the César Award for Best Cinematography for Of Gods and Men. Champetier served as president of the Association Française des directeurs de la photographie cinématographique (AFC) from 2009 to 2012 and was awarded the Berlinale Camera in 2023.
She is the mother of actress Alice de Lencquesaing.
