Biography
Caroline Kava is an American actress, director and playwright. Born on 25 September 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, she made her Broadway debut in 1973 in The Merchant of Venice and later appeared Off-Broadway in her own play The Early Girl (1986). She holds a B.A. from the State University of New York Empire State College.
Her film roles include Stefka in Heaven's Gate (1980), Connie White in Year of the Dragon (1985), Elizabeth Grant in Little Nikita (1988) and Mrs. Kovic in Born on the Fourth of July (1989). She has also appeared in Four Days in September (1997) and Snow Falling on Cedars (1999), and in television series including Star Trek: The Next Generation (as Dr. Toby Russell), Quantum Leap, The X-Files and multiple episodes of Law & Order.
Kava has directed and written short films, among them Polio Water (1995), which won the Grand Prize at the Independent Film Channel, and Number One (1998).
