Biography
Carolyn Jones was an American actress. She was born in Amarillo, Texas, on 28 April 1930 and died on 3 August 1983.
Jones began her film career in the early 1950s and appeared in titles including House of Wax (1953), The Big Heat (1953), The War of the Worlds (1953), The Seven Year Itch (1955), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956). She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for The Bachelor Party (1957). She is best known for playing Morticia Addams in the television series The Addams Family (1964–1966) and reprised the role in the 1977 television film Halloween with the New Addams Family. Later credits include Wonder Woman (1975–1977) as Queen Hippolyta, Roots (1977) as Mrs. Moore and the soap opera Capitol (1982–1983) as Myrna Clegg.
