Biography
Catherine Leterrier is a French costume designer. Born Catherine Fabius on 26 October 1942 in Aix-les-Bains, she trained in art history and began in fashion styling before entering film through her husband, director François Leterrier.
She has designed costumes for numerous French and international productions, including Amour (2012) directed by Michael Haneke, Coco Before Chanel (2009), The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999), A Good Year (2006) and The Visitors (1993). Leterrier received three César Awards, for costume design on The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and Coco Before Chanel, and for production design on Bon Voyage (2003). She was also nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for Coco Before Chanel.
Leterrier was married to François Leterrier until his death in 2020; they have one son, director Louis Leterrier. She is the sister of politician Laurent Fabius.
