Biography
Catherine Tate is an English actress, comedian and writer. She was born Catherine Jane Ford on 5 December 1969 in Bloomsbury, London, and trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Tate created and starred in the BBC sketch series The Catherine Tate Show (2004–2007). She played Mrs. Chadband in the 2005 BBC adaptation of Bleak House, Donna Noble in Doctor Who (2006 Christmas special, series 4 in 2008, and 2023 anniversary episodes), and Nellie Bertram in the US version of The Office (2011–2013). Other credits include Starter for 10 (2006) and voice work in DuckTales (2017).
She has received multiple awards and nominations, including British Comedy Awards and BAFTA nominations, for her comedy work.
