Biography

Caty Maxey is an American production designer and art director. She graduated with an MFA in Theatre and Film Design from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of United Scenic Artists local 829 and the Art Directors Guild local 800. Her career spans film and television from the mid-1980s onwards.

She has worked as art director on films including Jurassic World (2015), Jason Bourne (2016), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) and Ted 2 (2015), and as supervising art director on Greenland (2020). Maxey served as production designer on the television series The Guardian (2002–2004) and on films such as How to Eat Fried Worms (2006), Spring Breakdown (2009) and Civil War (2024).

For her work on Civil War, she received nominations from the British Independent Film Awards, the Art Directors Guild and the Set Decorators Society of America. She is married to retired location manager John Panzarella.
