Biography
Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton was a British photographer, diarist, painter, interior designer, and stage and costume designer for films and theatre. He designed the costumes and production for the films Gigi (1958) and My Fair Lady (1964).
Beaton won Academy Awards for his work on both films. He was born on 14 January 1904 in Hampstead, London, and died on 18 January 1980.
