Biography
Cedric the Entertainer, born Cedric Antonio Kyles, is an American actor and comedian. He studied mass communication at Southeast Missouri State University and began his career performing stand-up comedy before hosting BET's ComicView in 1993–94 and Def Comedy Jam in 1995.
He is known for his role as Cedric Jackie Robinson on the WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, as one of the comedians in Spike Lee's The Original Kings of Comedy (2000), and for appearances in the Barbershop films. His film credits include Eddie in Barbershop (2002), voice roles as Rhino in Ice Age (2002) and Maurice in the Madagascar series (2005–2012), and Pastor Joel Jeffers in First Reformed (2018). He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2019.
