Biography
Cesare Danova (born Cesare Deitinger) was an Italian actor. He was born on 1 March 1926 in Bergamo, Italy, and died on 19 March 1992 in Los Angeles. He adopted the stage name Danova when he began acting in Rome at the end of the Second World War. After appearing in the 1955 film Don Juan, he moved to the United States and was contracted to MGM in 1956.
Danova appeared in numerous films and television series. His film roles include Apollodorus in Cleopatra (1963), Count Elmo Mancini in Viva Las Vegas (1964), Giovanni Cappa in Mean Streets (1973) and Mayor Carmine DePasto in National Lampoon's Animal House (1978). He was also a frequent guest star on television series including The Rifleman, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote and Airwolf.
