Biography
Charles Okun was an American assistant director, producer and production manager. Born on 8 September 1924 in New York City, he worked in film production from the 1960s onwards.
Okun served as producer on The Accidental Tourist (1988), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture alongside Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Grillo. His other producer credits include Lovesick (1983), Grand Canyon (1991), Mumford (1999) and Dreamcatcher (2003). He held executive producer, unit production manager and first assistant director roles on films such as Silverado (1985), Wyatt Earp (1994) and French Kiss (1995).
Okun died on 3 July 2005 in Florida, aged 80, from complications of cancer.
