Biography
Charles P. Boyle (26 July 1892 – 28 May 1968) was an American cinematographer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he received his first credit as a cinematographer in 1925 and worked on numerous films through the 1950s.
Boyle served as director of photography on Anchors Aweigh (1945), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography (Colour), shared with Robert H. Planck. He was second-unit director of photography on The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) and contributed additional photography to Duel in the Sun (1946). His credits also include Lassie Come Home (1943), Fun and Fancy Free (1947), 3 Godfathers (1948), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier (1955) and Old Yeller (1957).
Boyle died in Los Angeles, California.
