Biography
Choi Woo-shik is a Canadian actor based in South Korea. Born on 26 March 1990 in Seoul, he moved with his family to Vancouver at the age of ten and later returned to South Korea in 2011 to pursue acting. He holds a B.A. in cultural studies from Chung-Ang University.
He made his screen debut in the 2011 drama The Duo and gained recognition for his leading role in the 2014 independent film Set Me Free. Choi came to international prominence with supporting roles in Train to Busan (2016) and Okja (2017), followed by his performance as Ki-woo in Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite (2019), which won the Palme d’Or and the Academy Award for Best Picture. He has since starred in the series Our Beloved Summer (2021–2022) and A Killer Paradox (2024).
