Biography
Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo, also credited as Christopher Michael Russo or Christopher Russo, is an American sports radio personality and occasional actor. Born on 18 October 1959 in Syosset, New York, he is best known for co-hosting the Mike and the Mad Dog programme on WFAN in New York from 1989 to 2008, which was also simulcast on the YES Network.
Russo joined SiriusXM Radio in 2008, where he hosts Mad Dog Unleashed on his Mad Dog Sports Radio channel. He hosted High Heat on MLB Network from 2014 until 2024 and has appeared frequently on ESPN's First Take. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2022.
Russo has made occasional film and television appearances, including as himself in the documentary Dawson City: Frozen Time (2017), providing a voice in Bad Lieutenant (1992), and voicing a character in Caught Stealing (2025).
