Biography
Christel Baras was a French casting director and actress. She began her career in journalism before moving into film production and casting, working initially with director Jacques Doillon.
Baras became known for her casting work on films by Céline Sciamma, including Water Lilies (2007), Tomboy (2011), Girlhood (2014) and Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019), as well as projects by other directors such as Titane (2021) and Emilia Pérez (2024). She also appeared as an actress in several films, including the role of La faiseuse d'ange in Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
