Biography
Clare Holman is an English actress born on 12 January 1964 in London. She is best known for portraying forensic pathologist Dr Laura Hobson in the crime drama series Inspector Morse from 1995 to 2000 and its spin-off Lewis from 2006 to 2015.
Holman began her career in the 1988 television film The Rainbow. Her other television credits include multiple roles in Midsomer Murders, appearances in The Little Drummer Girl (2018) as Miss Bach, Cursed (2020) and Sherwood. Film roles include Let Him Have It (1991), Blood Diamond (2006), Suite Française (2015) and Censor (2021).
In theatre, she received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? in 1997. She has performed with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and teaches drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
