Biography
Clinton Shorter (born 18 March 1971) is a Canadian film and television composer. He was born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and initially studied jazz in college before switching to music composition.
Shorter created the score for the independent film Come Together (2001) in Vancouver. He later composed music for several films in the area, including Neill Blomkamp's short Alive in Joburg (2005). He scored Blomkamp's feature District 9 (2009), for which he received a BMI Film Music Award and a SOCAN Domestic Feature Film Award. His other film scores include Contraband (2012), 2 Guns (2013), Pompeii (2014), Copshop (2021) and Boss Level (2021). He has composed for television series including Quantico (2015), The Expanse (2015–2022), Colony (2016–2018) and The Rip (2026).
