Biography
Colin Bates is a British-American actor. Born on 17 August 1990 in Los Angeles, he trained with the Royal Ballet as a child and later graduated from the Juilliard School. He began his professional career in the title role of Stephen Daldry's Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End.
Bates has appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning production of Girl from the North Country, with his performance recorded for the PBS Great Performances series. He has taken guest roles in series including The Blacklist (2021), Chicago P.D. (2024) and S.W.A.T. (2024).
In film, he played Tom Williams in Luca Guadagnino's Queer (2024) and has credits in Normandy Nude (2018) and Anna (2019). Upcoming work includes the series Task (2025) and the film Carjackers (2025).
