Biography
Colin Brunton is a Canadian film and television producer and director. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he began his career in the late 1970s with short films including The Last Pogo (1978) and won a Genie Award for Best Live Action Short for The Mysterious Moon Men of Canada (1989).
He produced feature films such as Roadkill (1989) and Highway 61 (1990) with director Bruce McDonald, and served as the first executive director of the Feature Film Project at the Canadian Film Centre, where he executive-produced Cube (1997) and Rude (1995). His other feature credits include line producer on Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001).
In television, Brunton has produced series including Little Mosque on the Prairie, Spun Out and Schitt's Creek (2015–2019). He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series as a producer on the latter. He also co-directed the documentary The Last Pogo Jumps Again (2013).
