Biography
Colin Gordon (27 April 1911 – 4 October 1972) was a British actor. Born in British Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), he was educated at Marlborough College and Christ Church, Oxford. He made his first West End appearance in 1934 and directed a repertory company from 1936 to 1939 before serving in the army during the Second World War.
Gordon had a long career in British stage, film and television from the 1940s to the 1970s, often playing government officials or similar roles. He is known for appearances in films including The Pink Panther (1963) and Casino Royale (1967), and for portraying Number Two twice in the series The Prisoner (1967). He was also a regular in The Baron and appeared in Doctor Who (1967) and UFO (1970). His stage performance in The Happiest Days of Your Life (1948) won the Clarence Derwent Award.
