Biography
Colin McKenna is an American screenwriter, playwright and producer. He holds degrees from Fordham University, Columbia University and NYU Tisch, where he earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing.
His plays have been developed at Cherry Lane, La MaMa ETC, Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab and the Dramatists Guild, where he was a Playwriting Fellow. He received the National Theatre Conference's Stavis Award for Outstanding Emerging Playwright for The Secret Agenda of Trees, which also won the John Golden Playwriting Award and the Goldberg Prize at NYU, and was a finalist for the Yale Drama Series.
McKenna wrote episodes of and produced the Netflix limited series Maid (2021), for which he shared a Writers Guild of America Award for Adapted Long Form. He wrote episodes of and served as executive producer on Sirens (2025), and received a WGA nomination for Limited Series.
