Biography
Shangela Laquifa Wadley, stage name of Darius Jeremy Pierce, is an American drag queen, actor and television personality. Born on 22 November 1981 in Paris, Texas, Pierce graduated with a BA from Southern Methodist University.
Pierce first gained attention competing on the second and third seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race, returning for the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. Acting credits include Mikaela in the 2010 series Terriers, a drag bar emcee in the 2018 film A Star Is Born, and guest roles in series such as Glee, Community, Bones and The Mentalist.
Between 2020 and 2024, Shangela co-hosted the HBO series We're Here with Bob the Drag Queen and Eureka O'Hara.
