Biography
Daina Reid is an Australian director, producer and former actress. She graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts acting course in 1990 and began her career as a performer on the comedy series Full Frontal (1995–1997). She started directing in 1999.
Reid is known for her work on Australian television including Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (2012), The Secret River, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart (2014) and Sunshine. Her international credits include episodes of The Handmaid's Tale (2017–), The Outsider (2020), Upload (2020), Space Force (2020), The Spanish Princess (2019), Shining Girls (2022) and The Veil (2024), as well as the feature Run Rabbit Run (2023).
She received the Australian Directors Guild’s Michael Carson Award in 2017 and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 for her work on The Handmaid's Tale.
