Biography
Daniel Clowes, also credited as Daniel Gillespie Clowes, is an American cartoonist, graphic novelist, illustrator and screenwriter. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 14 April 1961, he published most of his work in the solo anthology series Eightball (1989–2004).
Clowes adapted his 1997 graphic novel Ghost World into the 2001 feature film of the same name, writing the screenplay with director Terry Zwigoff. He also wrote the screenplay for the 2006 film Art School Confidential, based on another Eightball story. His comics and films have received multiple Harvey and Eisner Awards and an Academy Award nomination for adapted screenplay.
