Biography
Daniel Waters is an American screenwriter and film director. He was born on 10 November 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He is the older brother of director Mark Waters.
Waters came to prominence with his screenplay for the black comedy Heathers (1989), for which he received an Edgar Award. He wrote the screenplay and story for Batman Returns (1992), and also wrote The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (1990), Hudson Hawk (1991) and Demolition Man (1993). He has directed Happy Campers (2001) and Sex and Death 101 (2007), and wrote the screenplay for Vampire Academy (2014).
