Biography
Denise Di Novi is an American film producer and director. She studied communications and journalism at Simmons College in Massachusetts. After working in journalism and as a unit publicist, she became a principal at the Montreal-based production company Filmplan International and later joined New World Pictures as executive vice president of production.
Di Novi headed Tim Burton Productions and produced several of his films, including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Batman Returns (1992), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and Ed Wood (1994). In 1993 she established her own company, Di Novi Pictures. She has produced more than forty films, among them Heathers (1988), Practical Magic (1998), two adaptations of Little Women (1994 and 2019) and several Nicholas Sparks adaptations.
