Biography
Robin Swicord is an American screenwriter, director and producer. She was born on 23 October 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated from Florida State University with degrees in English and theatre.
Swicord is known for her screenplays for literary adaptations, including Little Women (1994), Matilda (1996), Practical Magic (1998), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008). She wrote and directed The Jane Austen Book Club (2007) and Wakefield (2016). She also served as a producer on the 2019 film Little Women.
She has been married to screenwriter Nicholas Kazan since 1984; they have two daughters, actresses Zoe Kazan and Maya Kazan. Swicord is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Directors.
