Biography

Danny Darst is an American actor and musician. He is known for supporting roles in films directed by Jonathan Demme and Robert Altman, including Sgt. Tate in The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Aubrey Bell in Short Cuts (1993), Billy Cox in Cookie's Fortune (1999), and Ellie's Mysterious Aide in The Manchurian Candidate (2004). He also appeared as Monty in the television series Melrose Place (1995–1997).

Darst began in music as a songwriter and performer before moving into acting. He contributed to soundtracks and stage productions, and has worked frequently with Altman and Demme. His official site notes his birth in Oregon and background in the Pacific Northwest.
